the age bracket checkbox…

At a lunch meeting today…in Blair….six women of different ages, backgrounds, etc.
We know each other through participation in the board we are on or through various community activities. One has young children. Several are grandmothers. I have older children.

It was a nominating committee meeting and we were trying to decide what our board needs for the next several years…someone with marketing experience? a financial expert? a construction guru? a member of the clergy?

And I suggested maybe someone younger.

And they all looked at me.
"How Young?"

Because YOUNG is a state of mind…when you reach a certain age.
In my MIND, I said, well, MY AGE.

~~~~~DOING~~~~~~~~~~~~
I’m NOT the "young one" at the group meetings anymore!
I’m NOT the one advertisers are selling their products to!
I’m NOT The target market for music anymore!
I’m going to turn FORTYSIX in a few months.
I’ll even be out of the "30-45" age bracket on some surveys I fill out.
I will go UP an age bracket. It will say something like "46-60".
The age of my parents.
No.
Wait.
They are in the age bracket AFTER that one! The "61-75’ers".
Geesh!
When did THIS happen?
