I started off the MonthOFun with a fun activity!

I stood on the ice that was once Lake Okoboji but is now 18 inches solid ice with a group of hardy Iowegians!
And a plane flew over…..

And while we saw the plane, the plane also saw US!

The cardinal set a record turnout for the 3rd annual 2010 ArtsLIVE ECO Art People Project on West Lake Okoboji (just off the shoreline from Lakeside Lab).
205 men, women and children ventured out onto the ice and made the 110 foot cardinal on Miller’s Bay.
The event was held as part of the 30th annual U of O Winter Games.

The bird was designed by Chad Branham.
It was photographed by Judy Hemphill Photography and Midwest Flying Services, Incorporated.
For information on obtaining photographs which are available for sale, stop by the Iowa Welcome Center in Arnolds Park (in the Maritime Museum building). You can also visit or call them at 332-6507. (Photo courtesy Judy Hemphill and Midwest Flying Services, Inc.).

Looks a little like an Iowa State Cyclone but my sister would never know he think it looks like a Cyclode because she won’t return her ex brothers phone calls or emails.

    I,m just sayin’
